Choosing cat litter in Egypt can be confusing: bentonite, crystal, scented, unscented, 5 L or 10 kg. This guide explains the main types, what each one is good for, and how to keep the litter box clean and odour-free.
This is the most popular cat litter in Egypt. Bentonite clay absorbs urine and forms a firm clump that you scoop out, so the rest of the litter stays clean.
Activated carbon traps ammonia smells, and antibacterial litters such as Luna Gold and Ramlah Antibacterial help in small apartments or homes with more than one cat.
Silica crystals absorb liquid and lock in odour. They are very light and one bag can last a long time with one cat.
Scents such as lavender, baby powder, Marseille soap or aloe vera make the room smell fresh, but cats have a sensitive nose. If your cat starts going outside the box, try an unscented litter such as Dream Cat Unscented.
Litter bags are heavy, so let us bring them to your door: same-day delivery in Cairo & Giza for orders before 1 PM, free delivery over EGP 3,000, or free pickup from our shop in Almaza. Browse all cat litter.
For most homes, a white bentonite clumping litter with activated carbon or a light scent gives the best balance of odour control, easy scooping and price, for example Kiki Kat, Promaster or Catzone.
Clumping litter is easier to scoop and cheaper per month for most cats. Crystal (silica gel) litter absorbs odour very well and is light, but some cats dislike the texture.
Scoop clumps once or twice a day and replace all the litter every 2–3 weeks, or more often if you have several cats.
Light scents are fine for most cats, but if your cat avoids the box, switch to an unscented litter such as Dream Cat Unscented or Kiki Kat Unscented.
