Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Diabetic Dry Dog Food
Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Diabetic is a complete dietetic dry food for adult dogs with diabetes mellitus. It is designed to help manage the rise in blood glucose after meals, one of the key goals in the nutritional care of diabetic dogs.
Key Benefits
- Helps Manage Blood Glucose: Low glycaemic index cereals and selected fibres help manage the rise in blood glucose after meals in diabetic dogs.
- Reduced Starch Level: A reduced starch content, with barley and tapioca as carbohydrate sources, helps limit blood glucose levels after eating.
- High Protein Content: A high protein level helps reduce net energy supply and supports the maintenance of muscle mass, which is essential for diabetic dogs.
- Who It Is For: Recommended for adult dogs with diabetes mellitus. Not suitable for growing puppies or for females during pregnancy or lactation.
- Veterinary Diet: A complete dietetic dry food for adult and senior dogs, to be used on your veterinarian’s recommendation and under their follow-up.
The formula uses cereals with a low glycaemic index, with barley and tapioca as carbohydrate sources, together with selected fibres and a reduced starch level to help limit post-meal blood glucose. A high protein content helps reduce net energy supply and supports the maintenance of muscle mass. For diabetic dogs that are overweight, your veterinarian may recommend moving to a weight-loss diet once blood glucose is under control. It is not suitable for growing puppies or for pregnant or nursing females. This is a veterinary diet; use it under the advice of your veterinarian.
